DaVita is hiring Registered Nurses and Patient Care Techs to join our renowned acute dialysis team located in the Parkview Regional Medical Center, due to an actively growing patient census.
Acute clinicians provide professional care in licensed Acute Hospitals and Sub-Acute Facilities (“Hospital”) that have contracted with DaVita to provide dialysis to patients of the Hospital and under the license of the Hospital. At all times, the Hospital and the patient’s physician retain ultimate authority over and responsibility for each patient’s care and treatment.

Dialysis experience is NOT required. DaVita is passionate about training and retaining our clinicians, offering consistent opportunities for mentorship and growth.

Registered Nurse Job Description

Takes call 2-3 times every 6 weeks, works every other weekend, and administers hemodialysis at the patients' bedsides
Plans and provides patient care for the pediatric, adult and geriatric patients in the hospital in accordance with physician orders, DaVita policy and procedures as well as hospital policy and procedures
Provides quality direct patient care and renal replacement therapies independently, in a professional, considerate and respectful manner
Supervises and directs patient care of other teammates in a treatment area that may or may not be licensed
Interacts and communicates with hospital partners in a collaborative, respectful manner, gives pre/post treatment report through appropriate reporting process to hospital primary RN/Staff
Documents patients’ physical assessment, vital signs, treatment reviews and observations in patient medical records and brings issues to the attention of the physician and primary nurse
Documents, evaluates and implements dialysis orders
Analyzes patient assessments, dialysis orders, laboratory results and, discusses issues with the nephrologist
Communicates emergencies, patient life-threatening complications and related incidents to supervisor, hospital staff, and the patient’s physician
Provides initiation and discontinuation of the prescribed renal replacement therapy, including but not limited to formulating a plan per physician orders, verifying safety measures are in place and complied with, administering medications or other appropriate treatments, and documenting all activity appropriately on the DaVita approved flow sheet or hospital EMR
Demonstrates the ability to transfer skill set and work in other Hospital settings when required
Attends Hospital orientation, homeroom meetings, and mandatory in-services as required
Verifies accurate charges and documentation are submitted in a timely manner
Enters ACOI Data accurate and in a timely manner
Demonstrates the ability to learn and perform modalities (hemodialysis, PD, CRRT, Apheresis, Pediatric )
Patient Care Tech Job Description

Receives patient into treatment/exam area and performs patient data collection; documents on DaVita approved flow sheets.
Monitors and documents status of vascular accesses using proper cannulation or central venous catheter (“CVC”) techniques in accordance with state, federal, and local regulations
Documents patient observations and seeks guidance when levels are out of normal range for hospitalized dialysis patients o Reports patient parameters to registered nurse as needed
Monitors and documents on DaVita approved flow sheet the patient vital signs applicable to critically ill patients, administers fluid therapy or other appropriate treatments as directed, documents activities appropriately per DaVita policy and / or state regulations
Observes Acute Facility policies and procedures for infection control and safety
Obtains blood samples per hospital policy and procedure and appropriately sends them to the lab
Set ups and monitors dialysis machines and reverses osmosis (“RO”) water system for correct functioning, responds to visual and audible alarms and makes appropriate adjustments before, during and after the dialysis treatment, performs safety checks as directed by the registered nurse prior to, during and following dialysis treatment
Prime dialyzers, obtains dialysate, and monitor the delivery system during treatments using all alarm systems, settings, and appropriate tests
Regularly communicates with Acute Program Office throughout day to confirm assignments
Communicates estimated time of patient treatment within Acute Facility and confirm assigned patient’s consent for treatment, treatment orders, presence and patency of vascular access, overall patient condition, and patient availability in advance
Verifies accurate charges and documentation are submitted to the Acute Facility and Acute Program Office as required
Notify the Acute Program Office of inventory and equipment needs
Reviews dialysis prescription, notes general physical and mental condition of patient through observation and interview, documents observations
Initiates dialysis via approved accesses using proper cannulation or central venous catheter (“CVC”) techniques in accordance with state, federal, and local regulations
Performs job responsibilities in hemodialysis upon successful completion of required training as allowed per state regulations
Perform clerical duties as needed which may include: filing, lab requisitions, scheduling appointments, answering phones, ordering supplies, billing, copying, faxing, data entry, maintaining patient charts
